My Story

Hi, I'm glad you're here.

I'm Callie, born and raised in Spokane. I went to WSU for Accounting and Finance (Go COUGS!), came back home, and started working at a local CPA firm where I've been doing tax work for individuals, partnerships, and nonprofits. I have learned how to handle complex financial problems under pressure, conduct high level research, and work well with my team to get things done on a deadline.

Growing up, my family ran a small business, so I learned early on what it means to watch every dollar, build your network, and keep a growth mindset. Those values stuck with me in a big way as I moved through my early career, but I figured out pretty quickly that I wanted my skills to mean more than a shareholder's bottom line. I didn't get into accounting to chase a title or work my way up the ladder. At the root of it, I care about my community and I'm a numbers person at heart. I want those skills and passion to actually mean something for the people around me.

That's what drew me to this race. The Auditor's office touches almost everything the county does. When done well, residents can trust that their tax dollars are being handled honestly and that county services are actually reaching the people who need them. I think someone with real hands on experience in accounting can make this office run more efficiently and transparently. Not because I feel like I have all the answers, but because I will do my absolute best to find them and I care about getting things right.

I was raised in a family that values hard work and personal responsibility, and those things haven't changed. I believe that good government should work for everybody. Low income families, small business owners, historically marginalized communities, government employees, young graduates, our elderly, and others who might not have someone in their corner, someone advocating for a better way forward. I want to be that person. I want to put my experience and skills to work for this community in a way that truly matters.

When I'm not working, you'll find me near a body of water with my dogs, camping with my nose deep in a book, or trying to find the best restaurant in town. Spokane is home, and I promise to serve it well.
